God Gave His Son For You!

“…Whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. “ What a wonderful promise of the Bible!  Someone has said, “Whosoever” means ME!  When you see that the Word of God says “whosoever” in John 3:16, try putting your name instead of whosoever.  That is if (your name) believes in Him (God’s Son, The Lord Jesus Christ) he or she should not perish, but have everlasting life.

But what does Scripture mean by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ?  Is it that I believe that He was a good person, who went about healing and teaching and was rejected by His people and crucified?  Is that the truth that I have to believe?  Do I only have to believe that He existed and was a real person? No the Bible is clear.  I need to place my trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. 

It is trusting that when Jesus Christ died on the cross, God was giving His Holy Son in my place to make atonement and pay for sins that I had committed.  When Christ rose from the dead three days later, I trust that it was for my justification that He rose. I should have paid for my own sins, but I couldn’t.  Only a sinless person could pay for the sins of others.  God gave His Son for you! 

Listen to this from Peter’s first epistle chapter 3 verse 18, “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, the He might bring us to God…” 
Oh friend, there is Heaven to gain.  And you can only come there one way, by believing in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ for you.  The life He gives never ends.  A man may die, but then there is eternity.  Where will you spend it?  Jesus Christ makes you an offer, “Come unto Me…” and He will give you eternal life.  Is Jesus Christ your Savior? Why don’t you put your trust in what He did for you today and receive His gift of salvation forever?
