Is Jesus Christ Your Savior?

Signs of the Christmas Season are all around, but the real meaning of Christmas is often overlooked.  Christmas is a celebration of God coming to this earth and dwelling among mankind in the Person of His Son. Over 2,000 years ago God sent His very own son, Jesus Christ, into this world in the form of a tiny baby.

For 33 years Jesus walked on this earth teaching about God, His father, and showing us the character of God and His great love for mankind. The Bible tells us that He was sinless in His life. He performed many miracles of healing, even raising the dead, and performed other signs and wonders that people might believe Him.  Some did believe and became His disciples, but many more did not believe. However, some of them plotted to kill Jesus, accusing Him of blasphemy and other trumped-up charges.  At the proper time, the Lord Jesus Christ allowed Himself to be taken by men and crucified on a cross.  He was placed in a tomb, but was raised from the dead after three days, after which he appeared to His disciples before ascending into heaven to be with His Father.

But, you might say, why did God allow this to happen to His Son?  You see, the Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 that “All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.” And in Romans 6:23 we learn that “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.  Friend, we needed a savior, and God provided one in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  In the book of John, chapter 3 and verse 16 it says “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”.
God’s Son took our sins upon Him and suffered the punishment that we deserved.  This is a good time to consider the question that we started out with – Is Jesus Christ your Savior?  If not, would you consider asking Him to forgive your sin?  He’s waiting to hear from you right now.  Just pray this simple prayer “Lord, I am a sinner before you, but I repent of my sin and accept the free gift of salvation that you offer through Jesus Christ, your Son.  Thank You for sending your Son to die for me so that my sins can be forgiven. Thank you for being my Savior”.
